This web site is intended to exhibit the custom  work of knife maker Geoff Rutledge. As a Rancher in Saskatchewan, Canada the knife is a tool which is used pretty much on a daily basis, this provides me with the ideal environment in which to field test my knives in a wide variety of uses. I strive as a knife maker to produce knives which are not only well balanced and functional in extreme conditions but also exhibit an attention to detail that make them visually pleasing. Each custom knife is constructed using the stock removal method, although certain profiles maybe duplicated, no grinding jigs, milling machines or automated assists are used during the design or construction of each knife.

Each knife is truly one of a kind, with a certain amount of care and proper storage it will provide a lifetime of use.

At present virtually all knives are constructed using either ATS 34 or 440C steel heat treated to a hardness of between 59 and 61 on the Rockwell Scale.  These steels have proven to exhibit the qualities necessary for a superior finish as well as excellent edge retention.

Handle materials are quite diverse, ranging from wood, bone antler and certain man made materials.  As each individual customer will have certain preferences I will endeavor to meet their needs.
